Eminem encabeza la lista de los más nominados compitiendo en 10 categorías. Bruno Mars le sigue con 7 nominaciones, mientras que los chicos de Lady Antebellum alcanzan las 6 nominaciones, al igual que Lady Gaga y el rapero Jay-Z.
En la categoría de mejor canción del año encontramos a Cee-Lo y su pegajoso Forget You (el nombre real de la canción es otro, algo así como F*** You), al siempre genial Ray LaMontage y 'Beg, Steal or Borrow' y la colaboración entre Eminem y Rihanna con 'Love the Way You Lie'. Completa esta categoría la melancólica 'Need You Now' de Lady Antebellum y 'The House That Built Me' de Miranda Lambert.
